Because commodity prices are soaring endlessly and income sources are depleting fast, we must take frugal steps to save as much as we can in our homes. One of these is by saving leftover foods. We spend so much on groceries and we even take cash loans to help us when payday has still not come. But to waste what's left of these groceries is much like wasting these personal cash loans.

Pour in enough batter to cover the bottom of the skillet. About 1/4 cup will make a thin pancake covering the surface of an 8 inch skillet if you spread the batter around immediately by turning and rotating the skillet in the air. This is the hearty beef stew method for very thin crepes; Injera is not supposed to be paper thin so you should use a bit more batter than you would for crepes, but less than you would for a flapjack pancakes.

Don't over complicate matters. If you're not confident in the kitchen, aim for simple. Try to omit any messy foods from the menu: slurping spaghetti Bolognese does make a romantic meal, no matter what you might have seen in Lady and the Tramp.

A few historical points for this wonder food. During the reign of the Roman Empire, broccoli was a staple of the warriors. According to lore, broccoli enabled them to gain strength for battles. In other words, before there was Popeye and spinach -- there were Roman fighters and broccoli.

Spend a little time planning out some basic menus that you and the kids like. How about homemade chicken soup, or beef stew? Crockpot lasagna? Did you know that you can use your Crockpot to make an amazing rotisserie style chicken?

The seasoning of slow cooker beef bourguignon a soup will typically start with aromatics of celery carrots and onion and then you can build upon that.
